World Climate Tech Summit is committed to neutralizing the carbon footprint associated with the summit, including the physical production and travel of our participants.
Every human activity has an environmental impact, and so does the creation and transfer of NFTs, which we are reducing to a minimum. Furthermore, we believe this technology is well positioned to promote environmental sustainability around the world through the underlying blockchain promoting accountability and transparency.
INTRODUCING Impact NFT's
NFTs are a powerful tool for sustainable engagement. WCTS is supporting the development of a new class of NFTs called ImpactNFTs, pioneered by Project Ark, and promoted by the ImpactNFT Alliance
As an investment, ImpactNFTs convert traditional financial value on assets and collectables into a format that funds and monitors social, cultural and environmental causes.
ImpactNFTs act as a verifiable certificate on the blockchain used to confirm and track activities such as social impact funding, achieving specific accomplishments towards designated social missions, and providing valuable information relating to a variety of high-value social causes.
Impact NFTs have been designed with the following requirements
The climate footprint of the NFTs have been minimized or neutralized
A portion of the funds raised from the NFTs have been verified to fund positive social, cultural, and sustainable development.
Using Proof of Stake public blockchains, ImpactNFTs can be “minted” and transferred through processes that require very little energy (comparable to that of sending emails or videos), but have significant impact — they are used to fund, monitor, or represent the story of various social and environmental impacts around the world.
In the case of the World Climate Tech Summit NFT tickets, Carbonbase will engage in rigorous carbon accounting to recognize the total carbon footprint of the summit, including from the minting and transfer of the NFTs.

With a pilot project in the carbon-negative nation of Suriname, Greenverse is pioneering a new economic model of “preserve-to-earn” and moving away from traditional exploitative economic practices.
It serves as proof that you are responsible for removing CO2 from the Earth’s atmosphere.
